Job Openings Motherly Senior Social Video Producer

About the job Motherly Senior Social Video Producer

About Us

Founded in 2015, Motherly has been a destination for people on their pregnancy journey, first-time moms, and everything in between. In 2025, Motherly joined the ParentsTogether Media Network with a mission to inform, entertain, and engage Gen Z and millennial parents so that all parents and families thrive. The Social Video Producer will play a defining role in this next chapter, helping shape what cultural parenting media at scale looks like in this moment.

Our strategy framework is based on lean startup principles: we try out ideas quickly, see what works, and iterate. We work collaboratively to solve challenges together, and we drive impact on high-stakes issues in a positive, low-ego, low-drama work environment.

The Social Video Producer will combine a passion for moms and kids with the razor-sharp social video acumen to develop and produce compelling social content that is topical and culturally fluent. Motherly is revolutionizing parenting content, because being motherly takes a village, and we're building it.

Role Overview

We're looking for a social native video producer who is excited to transform Motherly’s mission into multi-format, cross-platform content that reaches Gen Z and millennial parents at scale. The ideal candidate is creative, a self-starter and is driven by cracking the algo.

This role will own the development, production, and ongoing operation of Motherly’s social video franchises — from first concept through final delivery and, over time, into the day-to-day cadence of publishing and platform performance.

This is a builder’s role. You’ll concept and launch recurring video series, establish repeatable production workflows that the team can run at scale, and grow into broader ownership of Motherly’s social video presence as those franchises mature. You should be equally comfortable writing a creative brief, hiring a video crew, running a shoot, sitting in an edit bay, and stepping in front of the camera yourself when a piece calls for it.

If you speak social natively, think in video, and have a knack for making resourceful content digestible and entertaining, this role is for you. You think in trends, you know the up-and-coming creators, and you can translate video content across platforms fluently when it comes to editing, concepting, and delivery. You intimately know the differences in producing and editing for TikTok, YT and IG. You understand how to create for these platforms uniquely and stay up to date on changing algos, content patterns, and culture.

Key Responsibilities

Franchise Development & Strategy

  • Partner with the team to develop and launch social-first video franchises aligned with Motherly’s editorial priorities and audience growth goals

  • Lead content ideation and concept development for recurring video series, including formats, hooks, storytelling structures, talent approaches, and platform-specific adaptations

  • Advise on channel-specific content opportunities, audience trends, and emerging social video formats across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other platforms as they emerge

Production

  • Write scripts, outlines, creative briefs, and production frameworks for approved social video concepts

  • Build and manage production workflows, timelines, and project plans for social-first video initiatives

  • Source, coordinate, and manage production partners as needed, including creators, hosts, videographers, photographers, editors, and other freelance talent

  • Oversee video production from pre-production through post-production, ensuring assets are delivered on time and aligned with creative objectives

  • Provide editing support, including selects, still image creation, and social asset development as needed

  • Participate as on-camera talent when appropriate

Publishing & Channel Performance

  • Collaborate with the Social Media Manager to ensure produced content is optimized for platform performance and integrated into Motherly’s publishing calendar

  • Track and report on performance metrics for produced video content, and iterate on formats and franchises based on data and feedback

  • Maintain organized, searchable asset libraries for produced video and photography content

Cross-Functional & Brand Support

  • Support sponsored and branded content initiatives requiring social video production expertise

  • Collaborate closely with editorial, marketing, and design teams to ensure content aligns with brand voice, campaign goals, and audience insights

  • Participate in brainstorming, planning, and content review sessions as needed

  • Document repeatable workflows and production processes to support scalable video production as the team grows

What Success Looks Like

  • Consistent development and growth of Motherly’s social-first video franchises, with clear ownership from concept through publishing

  • Franchise growth in audience metrics across platforms

  • Reliable, high-quality creative briefs, scripts, outlines, and production plans for all assigned video projects

  • Smooth end-to-end production management, including talent coordination and post-production oversight, delivered on agreed-upon calendars and campaign timelines

  • Documented, repeatable workflows that allow the video program to scale with the team

Qualifications

  • Needs to have a rolodex of show runners, editors, etc. to put together a low-production to high-production video crew in either NY or LA

  • Proven experience in video production, including planning, shooting, lighting, sound, and editing for social platforms

  • Demonstrated project management ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects, manage timelines, and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders

  • Photography skills for capturing high-quality still images and visual assets that complement social video content

  • Marketing experience, especially in social media and content marketing, with an understanding of audience growth, engagement, and platform best practices

  • Experience producing content for platforms such as Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, or similar short-form video channels

  • Proficiency with industry-standard editing and design tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, or similar)

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, prioritize tasks, and consistently meet deadlines

  • Understanding of and empathy for the experiences of parents and caregivers; prior experience in parenting, lifestyle, or women-focused media is a plus

  • Strong communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to give and receive constructive feedback

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Film, Media, Communications, Marketing) or equivalent professional experience in video production and social content
