Job Title: VDI Engineer (Azure Virtual Desktop AVD) (5+ Years Experience)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced VDI Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in Microsoft AVD (Azure Virtual Desktop) to design, deploy, and manage enterprise-level virtual desktop infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and performance, while providing expert technical support and seamless integration with existing IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and manage VDI solutions using Microsoft AVD, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.

Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting and resolving complex VDI issues, ensuring resolution within agreed SLAs & KPIs.

Act as the primary contact for incidents, problems, and change management related to VDI solutions.

Collaborate with internal IT teams and external vendors to diagnose and resolve advanced VDI performance and infrastructure issues.

Work closely with business users to gather requirements, provide expert consultation, and optimize VDI environments.

Ensure seamless integration of AVD with enterprise IT infrastructure, minimizing operational disruptions.

Conduct performance tuning, resource optimization, and proactive maintenance for VDI environments.

Implement and monitor security measures to protect VDI environments against potential threats and vulnerabilities.

Develop and maintain documentation, including design specifications, configurations, troubleshooting guides, and operational procedures.

Lead training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives for business users and internal IT teams on VDI best practices.

Oversee VDI projects from planning to deployment, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.

Work with Product Managers to drive continuous improvements in managing and optimizing VDI solutions.

Actively participate in ITIL processes such as Incident, Change, Problem, and Availability Management.

Stay updated on emerging trends and advancements in VDI technologies, recommending innovations where applicable.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in designing, deploying, and managing Microsoft AVD (Azure Virtual Desktop) solutions.

Strong hands-on experience in VDI technologies, including Microsoft AVD, Citrix, VMware Horizon, or similar.

Expertise in troubleshooting and performance optimization of enterprise VDI environments.

Strong understanding of Azure infrastructure, including Azure AD, FSLogix, Intune, Azure Networking, and ARM Templates.

Experience with VDI security best practices, including Zero Trust security models.

Hands-on experience with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem, and Availability Management).

Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Terraform, or similar for automation.

Experience working with cross-functional teams in a global enterprise environment.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills:

Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Familiarity with cloud-based monitoring and management tools for VDI solutions.

Strong knowledge of networking concepts, VPNs, and firewall configurations for remote desktop solutions.

Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning for VDI environments.
