Responsibilities:

Participate actively as part of the dynamic software development team.

Develop and manage communication interfaces for medical devices using serial protocols (RS-232, RS-485, etc.) to ensure reliable data transmission between devices and healthcare systems.

Identify, diagnose, and resolve problems in serial communication between medical devices and software systems, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.

Conduct thorough testing of serial interfaces to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with medical device standards and regulations.

The candidate will need to create detailed technical documentation, including interface specifications, workflows, troubleshooting guides, and user manuals.

  • The candidate needs to innovative with ideas for improving the solution.

Requirements:

Possess a recognized Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.

3+ years of experience in developing and integrating medical device interfaces, healthcare IT, or medical software development.

Programming experience in Visual Basic, VB.Net or ASP.Net or C#.Net.

Database handling experience in Oracle.

Experience in Serial Communication Protocols:

  • RS-232, RS-422, RS-485: Proficiency with serial communication standards used in medical devices.
  • Modbus, UART, I2C, SPI: Familiarity with these serial communication protocols for data transfer between devices and systems.
    • Skills in debugging issues in the hardware-software interface, particularly when dealing with serial communication problems (e.g., signal integrity, noise issues, timing problems).
    • Experience with the integration and testing of serial communication between medical devices and other systems, ensuring data integrity and reliability.
    • Experience with integrating medical devices that rely on serial interfaces into healthcare systems.
    • Knowledge of data parsing and handling to ensure seamless communication between devices.
    • Experience with communication protocols (e.g., HL7, DICOM, FHIR) used in healthcare systems.
    • Familiarity with medical device standards, regulations, and certifications (e.g., FDA, CE Mark, ISO 13485, IEC 62304).
    • Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure.
