Senior Linux Administrator

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Work Mode: Onsite

Oxydata is a Malaysia-based technology and recruitment firm helping enterprises build high-performing teams.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux Administrator to maintain the reliability, security, and performance of Linux servers and associated infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Red Hat, CentOS).

• Perform regular system updates, patch management, and security hardening.

• Manage user accounts, permissions, and file systems.

• Implement and manage monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana) to ensure system health.

• Respond to alerts promptly, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.

• Experience with hypervisors like RHEV Hypervisor and VMware.

• Create and manage virtual machines (VMs) and maintain virtualized environments.

• Identify and resolve system and application-related issues.

• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.

Requirements

Must-have:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

• Proven experience as a Linux System Administrator or similar role.

• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and shell scripting.

• Familiarity with virtualization and hypervisors (RHEV Hypervisor, VMware).

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-have:

• DevOps experience and skills in automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Jenkins) is preferred.
