Job Description:
Data Engineer – 6-12 months contract
Location: onsite-Luanda, Angola

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to support the bank's data operations and ensure the integrity, consistency, and regulatory compliance of information submitted to the National Bank of Angola (BNA).
This role plays a critical part in enabling accurate regulatory reporting while collaborating closely with Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Data Governance teams to ensure data is properly prepared, transformed, validated, and reconciled for regulatory and analytical purposes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the migration, automation, and management of regulatory reporting processes in line with BNA requirements
- Develop and maintain robust ETL/ELT data pipelines across core banking systems, Data Reservoir, Data Warehouse, and other enterprise data sources
- Ensure data quality, traceability, and consistency across regulatory data products
- Implement automated validation and reconciliation processes to reduce errors and improve efficiency
- Collaborate with Data Governance on metadata documentation, business rules, and data lineage
- Ensure compliance with privacy, security, and regulatory requirements, including anonymization and access control
- Translate business requirements into scalable and reliable technical solutions
- Identify and improve inefficiencies in data processes (performance, scalability, automation)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Postgraduate, or Master's degree in:
- Computer Engineering
- Data Science
- Information Systems
- Or related fields
- Data Engineering certification (preferred)
- Python for Data Engineering (advantageous)

- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering and/or Data Science
- Strong experience in process automation
