Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or as an accounting clerk, with a solid grasp of bookkeeping principles. 
  • Proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage, as well as Microsoft Excel. 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, record-keeping, and financial calculations. 
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing, tax laws, and regulations related to accounts payable and receivable. 
  • Ethical conduct and discretion when handling confidential financial information, with certification (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper) as a plus.

Core responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and current financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries. 
  • Record all financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, payments, and bank deposits, in accounting software or spreadsheets. 
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy. 
  • Process accounts payable invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments to vendors and suppliers.
  • Calculate and process employee payroll, including wages, bonuses, taxes, and deductions, while ensuring compliance with regulations. 
  • Prepare regular financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and support budgeting activities. 
  • Assist with internal and external audits, maintaining compliance with accounting principles, standards, and industry regulations.
  • Assist with general administration ad hoc, monitoring emails, and task management.
