Job Summary:

The IT Specialist is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing Outsourcey Manilas IT infrastructure. This includes managing hardware, software, and network systems, providing technical support to users, and ensuring data security and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Assist with installing, configuring, and maintaining IT equipment and software.

System Administration:

  • Manage and monitor servers, networks, and computer systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform regular system updates, backups, and security patches.
  • Maintain user accounts, permissions, and access rights per company policies.

Network Management:

  • Configure and manage local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and internet connections.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.

Data Security:

  • Ensure data security through regular audits, security assessments, and implementing encryption methods.
  • Develop and enforce security policies to protect company data and prevent unauthorised access.
  • Respond to and mitigate security breaches and cyber threats.

Hardware and Software Management:

  • Oversee IT hardware and software procurement, installation, and maintenance.
  • Manage software licenses and ensure compliance with vendor agreements.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technology solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.

Project Management:

  • Lead or assist in IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to assess and address their IT needs.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for IT systems, processes, and procedures.

Training and Development:

  • Provide training and support to staff on new and existing technology tools.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3 years experience as an IT Specialist or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and IT infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and data protection regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • ISO 27001:2022 Internal Audit Certification is preferred, but not required.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ are a plus.

Work Environment:

  • Required to report to the office Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Must be willing to work extended hours and perform leg-work/tasks for the department.
  • May need to work outside regular business hours for system updates or in response to emergencies.
