- Assist attorneys with family law cases, including divorces, child custody, alimony, and child support
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, marital settlement agreements, petitions, and correspondence.
- Prepare financial affidavits and calculate child support payments based on applicable guidelines and financial data.
- Research relevant family law statutes, case law, and regulations to assist in the preparation of legal documents.
- E-file legal documents with courts and ensure compliance with court procedures and deadlines.
- Coordinate with clients, experts, and other legal professionals to gather necessary information and documents.
- Provide general administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling, correspondence, and file management.
- Maintain regular client communication, providing case updates at least every ten days
- Handle client intake, ensuring all required information is collected and accurately documented in the intake worksheet
- Process case filings, prepare petitions, and ensure all necessary client information is obtained and submitted
- Track case progress, manage court filings, and schedule necessary appointments related to each case.
- Bonus Qualifications (preferred, not required)
Experience with deeds, power of attorney, wills, and trusts.
Knowledge of estate planning and related legal documents.
Core responsibilities:
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Family Law Paralegal, specifically within the Florida market.
- Highly proficient in using the Our Family Wizard system.
- Strong understanding of family law procedures, including divorce, custody, alimony, and child support.
- Ability to calculate child support payments and prepare financial affidavits accurately.
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills (English neutral accent)
- Experience with e-filing systems and court procedures.
