Job Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a paralegal in immigration law, with specific knowledge of Australian immigration processes.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using legal research tools, case management systems, and general office software (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts to clients in a clear and concise manner.
- Can work fully onsite at BGC Taguig.
Core responsibilities:
- Case Management: Support lawyers in managing various immigration cases, including skilled migration, family visas, student visas, protection visas, and employer-sponsored visas.
- Document Preparation: Draft, review, and prepare immigration documents such as visa applications, affidavits, legal submissions, and statutory declarations.
- Legal Research: Conduct research on Australian immigration legislation, policies, and case law to assist lawyers in building strong cases.
- Client Communication: Act as a point of contact for clients, providing updates on case progress, gathering necessary information, and responding to general queries regarding the immigration process.
- Liaison with Authorities: Submit applications and legal documents to the Department of Home Affairs, Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT), and other relevant authorities, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- File and Case Maintenance: Maintain organised and up-to-date case files, ensuring all client information and documents are correctly recorded, stored, and easily accessible.
- Deadline Tracking: Monitor and manage important case deadlines, including visa application submission, appeals, and client meetings.
