The Role

Role Purpose

The Investment Associate supports the origination, evaluation, execution and monitoring of investments across the Firm, its Funds and the SPVs through which investments are held.

Working closely with the CEO, COO and CFO, the role provides the analytical, transactional and communications support required by a lean investment team—from initial screening and SPV establishment through to transaction completion, portfolio monitoring and investor reporting.

This is a hands-on position offering broad exposure across investment management, deal execution, investor relations and investment operations.

Why This Role, Now

The Firm has onboarded executive management, including a Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, and is building the operational platform required for its next stage of growth.

The Firm is digitalising its operations through a governed document-management system, a centralised action register and a scalable, automated operating model supporting a deliberately lean team.

This position forms part of the next stage of the Firm's growth and platform development.

Key Responsibilities

Investment and Deal Execution

  • Manage live transactions from commencement through to completion under the COO's direction.
  • Coordinate transaction timetables, data rooms, counterparties and external advisers.
  • Support commercial, financial, legal and operational due diligence.
  • Monitor transaction requirements, outstanding actions and closing deliverables.
  • Ensure transaction records and supporting documentation remain complete and audit-ready.

Financial Analysis and Modelling

  • Build and maintain financial models, valuations and sensitivity analyses.
  • Conduct commercial, market, industry and counterparty due diligence.
  • Analyse financial performance, operating metrics and investment risks.
  • Prepare clear recommendations and supporting analysis for investment decisions.
  • Review investment assumptions and identify material risks, sensitivities and value drivers.

Investment Memoranda and Committee Papers

  • Prepare investment memoranda, Investment Committee papers and transaction summaries.
  • Produce post-completion reviews and portfolio updates.
  • Ensure all materials are prepared to a Board-ready and investor-ready standard.
  • Coordinate supporting information and respond to questions arising during the approval process.

SPV Establishment and Administration

  • Work with the COO to establish and maintain investment SPVs.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel, outsourced service providers and the fund administrator.
  • Support the preparation of constitutional documents, registers, bank accounts and closing documentation.
  • Manage SPV establishment and transaction-closing mechanics.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records throughout the SPV lifecycle.

Portfolio Monitoring and Investment Pipeline

  • Monitor portfolio performance, financial results and key operating indicators.
  • Support the CFO's quarterly valuation process using IPEV methodology.
  • Gather and analyse underlying financial and operational data from portfolio companies.
  • Maintain portfolio schedules, investment records and performance reporting.
  • Support origination through funding-round tracking, secondary-market monitoring and broker-flow analysis.
  • Maintain the investment target pipeline and transaction schedules.
  • Identify and escalate emerging market, sector and investment themes to the CEO and COO.

Investor Relations and Communications

  • Support fundraising activities and ongoing investor communications.
  • Prepare quarterly investor reports, presentations and other reporting materials.
  • Coordinate responses to due diligence questionnaires and investor information requests.
  • Prepare and maintain investor data-room content.
  • Ensure communications are accurate and appropriate for Professional Clients and Market Counterparties.
  • Contribute to investor presentations, updates and transaction announcements.

Investment Operations

  • Establish and maintain transaction, investor and portfolio data rooms.
  • Complete due diligence questionnaires and support investor due diligence processes.
  • Support Limited Partner onboarding, KYC and AML documentation requirements.
  • Assist with the administration of capital calls and distributions.
  • Act as a day-to-day liaison with the outsourced fund administrator.
  • Maintain complete, accurate and audit-ready investment and investor records.
  • Support ongoing compliance, governance and regulatory reporting requirements.

Process and Operational Development

  • Contribute to the development of the Firm's operations manual and standard operating procedures.
  • Document and improve processes across fund operations, the SPV lifecycle, investor onboarding and investor reporting.
  • Support the implementation of scalable digital workflows and automated operating processes.
  • Identify operational gaps and recommend practical improvements.

Digital Profile and Firm Communications

  • Manage and update the Firm's website, LinkedIn page and other relevant communication channels.
  • Contribute to transaction announcements, market updates and thought-leadership content.
  • Ensure public communications are professional, accurate and consistent with the Firm's regulatory obligations.

General Firm Support

  • Contribute to the broader operation of a small, regulated investment firm.
  • Support record-keeping, management information and internal reporting.
  • Assist colleagues across functions where required.
  • Undertake other responsibilities typical of an associate position within a growing investment-management firm.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications

  • CFA Level III candidate or recently qualified CFA preferred.
  • Strong degree in finance, economics, accounting, business or a related discipline.
  • CA, CPA or ACCA qualifications are also highly regarded and may be considered alongside or in place of the CFA.

Experience

  • Approximately 2–5 years of relevant experience in investment management, private markets, investment banking or corporate finance.
  • Demonstrated transaction-execution and financial-modelling experience.
  • Private equity or venture capital experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with investment funds, SPVs and private-market structures is advantageous.
  • Experience preparing investment memoranda, valuations, investor materials or Investment Committee papers is highly regarded.
  • Exposure to investor onboarding, KYC, fund administration or portfolio reporting is beneficial.

Technical Capabilities

  • Strong financial modelling, valuation and analytical skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret financial statements, operating metrics and transaction documents.
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills.
  • High attention to detail and disciplined document-management practices.
  • Familiarity with IPEV valuation methodology is advantageous.

Working Arrangement

This position is offered on a remote basis. The Firm is headquartered in Abu Dhabi Global Market and operates as a distributed team.

The successful candidate must:

  • Work core hours aligned with Gulf Standard Time.
  • Be available to travel to Abu Dhabi periodically when required.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and information-security standards.
  • Comply with all document-management, record-keeping and regulatory requirements.
  • Handle material relating to the Board, Investment Committee, portfolio companies and Limited Partners to the same professional standard regardless of working location.
