We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to support our transportation operations. This role plays a key part in maintaining driver compliance, managing communications, supporting the company's growth through outbound sales and prospecting, and ensuring seamless onboarding and coordination across logistics activities.

Objectives of this role:

  • To efficiently manage communication channels, support driver compliance and onboarding, prospecting for new clients and opportunities, and contribute to the overall flow and accuracy of logistics operations through strong problem-solving and organizational skills.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage logistics-related communications by responding to emails via Gmail and handling inbound/outbound phone calls

  • Perform outbound prospecting and cold calls to freight brokers, forwarders, and potential clients to generate new business

  • Monitor driver compliance and proactively collect necessary documentation (e.g., licenses, medical cards)

  • Oversee and assist with onboarding new drivers and owner-operators

  • Provide timely and accurate rate quotes to brokers and clients

  • Maintain communication with drivers, clients, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations and resolve issues

  • Update and manage internal driver and compliance tracking systems

  • Provide general administrative support related to logistics and transportation functions


Required skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a logistics or transportation-related role

  • Working knowledge of logistics or transportation operations

  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency with Gmail, RingCentral, and other tools commonly used in logistics or transportation operations

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment


Preferred skills and qualifications

  • Experience in the trucking, freight brokerage, or broader logistics/transportation industry

  • Familiarity with supply chain principles and dispatch/broker software tools

  • Understanding of transportation safety regulations and driver compliance requirements

  • Proven sales and prospecting skills, with confidence in cold calling and rate negotiation

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational ability, and ability to manage broker communications effectively


Nice to have:

  • Hands-on experience in brokerage and dispatching is a plus
