About the job Accounts Manager
Our client is a trusted provider of full-scope outsourced accounting services, supporting a diverse client base across multiple industries. Their comprehensive services include bookkeeping, financial reporting, payroll processing, tax compliance, budgeting, and financial advisory.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and highly organized Accounting Manager to lead the accounting team, ensure timely and accurate service delivery to clients, and drive operational efficiency. This role requires strong leadership, team management, and the ability to control workloads effectively, ensuring all client deadlines are met with precision.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Service Delivery Management:

Oversee the accounting operations for multiple clients, ensuring all financial reports and deliverables are accurate and timely.

Ensure all client deadlines are met with a high level of accuracy and compliance.

Act as the main point of contact for key clients, managing expectations and providing financial guidance.

Maintain strong internal controls and quality assurance to minimize errors and ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS, GAPSME) and local tax regulations.

Submit regulatory forms to authorities, such as CFR and Maltese VAT authorities.
Team Leadership & Performance Management:

Lead, manage, and oversee a team of three accounting professionals, ensuring efficiency and accountability.

Assign workloads effectively to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on schedule through company software (Office Dynamics).

Implement structured processes to track team performance and address any inefficiencies.

Conduct regular performance reviews, provide coaching, and drive professional development.

Maintain a strong team culture focused on accuracy, discipline, and high-quality service delivery.
Financial Reporting & Compliance:

Oversee and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

Ensure compliance with all tax, VAT, payroll, and statutory regulations for clients.

Proactively identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and inefficiencies.
Process Optimization & Technology Integration:

Identify and implement best practices to improve accounting workflows and efficiency.

Leverage accounting technology and automation tools, including Xero and Sage, to enhance service delivery.

Continuously evaluate and refine internal processes to ensure smooth operations under high workload conditions.
Strategic Financial Advisory & Business Support:

Provide clients with valuable financial insights and recommendations to support business growth.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA) preferred.

5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.

Proven ability to manage a high volume of client accounts and meet tight deadlines.

Strong expertise in GAPSME, tax regulations, payroll, and financial reporting.

Excellent team leadership and management skills, with experience controlling a team and ensuring high performance.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero and Sage).
Preferred:

Experience in an outsourced accounting or professional services firm.

Knowledge of cloud-based accounting systems and automation tools.

Experience managing international clients and cross-border accounting.
