Network Engineer

We currently have a vacancy for a Network Engineer fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert. The work will be carried out on site at customer premises in Malta. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major clients IT team remotely.

Your tasks:

• Manage network topologies and cabling, monitor network infrastructure performance, operate and support network equipment;
• Administration of firewall and their configuration, administration of reverse proxy and load balancer equipment services, and utilization of configuration management frameworks;
• Administration of periodic firmware and software upgrades of network infrastructure;
• Automate process using scripting and/or infrastructure as a code where possible, along with the implementation of infrastructure as a code, and implementation of software defined networking;
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues;
• Identify hardware, software and network problems and propose solutions, and perform regular maintenance on hardware, network, and software components;
• Communicate effectively with end users and ICT team and take part in designing and implementing solutions for replication & disaster recovery.

Requirements

• University degree, combined with professional experience of more than 10 years experience;
• Experience with system architecture design and service delivery;
• Experience with Networking and Network Infrastructure;
• Experience with setting up and managing firewall security policies;
• Experience with Configuration Management Frameworks;
• Experience with process improvement;
• Experience with troubleshooting network issues;
• Ability to write detailed technical documentation, guides, and specifications;
• Excellent command of the English language.
