We are currently seeking a skilled Crane Operator to join our team in Malta. The Crane Operator will be responsible for operating cranes to lift, move, position, and reposition heavy loads, primarily in a maritime setting. The ideal candidate will have experience operating cranes with a lifting capacity of up to 300 tons and possess the necessary certifications. Additionally, proficiency in English is required to ensure effective communication within our multicultural team and with clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently operate cranes to lift, move, and position heavy loads as required.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
  • Interpret load charts and calculate crane capacities to determine appropriate lifting techniques.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate lifting activities.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on cranes to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Maintain accurate records of crane operations, including load weights, lift heights, and equipment maintenance.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Crane Operator, preferably in a maritime or shipyard environment.
  • Valid certification for operating cranes with a lifting capacity of up to 300 tons.
  • Strong understanding of crane operation techniques, load charts, and safety protocols.
  • Good command of spoken and written English to communicate effectively with team members and clients.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality.
