Our client, a new luxury hotel in the heart of St. Julian's, is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join their team. As part of their commitment to excellence in hospitality, they are looking for a skilled professional to manage payroll functions and ensure smooth financial operations for the hotel's growing workforce.

Job Summary:

The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for accurately processing payroll, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with local labor laws. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience working in a payroll or accounting role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process employee payroll on a weekly and monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee earnings, deductions, and benefits.
  • Handle payroll queries from employees and provide timely resolutions.
  • Ensure compliance with Maltese employment laws, tax regulations, and social security contributions.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of annual tax forms (e.g., FS3 forms).
  • Calculate overtime, bonuses, and other pay-related adjustments as needed.
  • Monitor and manage timekeeping systems, ensuring accurate tracking of attendance and leave.
  • Assist in preparing payroll reports for management review and auditing purposes.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure smooth payroll operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll regulations and best practices.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in payroll processing or a related accounting role (1-3 years).
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and employee benefits in Malta.
  • Proficiency in Indigo payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication skills for handling employee queries.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet payroll deadlines.
  • Knowledge of HR processes and employee benefits administration is a plus.
