The Finance Executive will play a pivotal role in managing the financial activities of the hotel, ensuring efficient financial operations, and supporting strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management within the hospitality industry, be detail-oriented, and capable of working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with internal policies and local regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, forecasts, and financial planning.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to support decision-making for hotel management.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax, legal, and regulatory requirements specific to the hospitality sector.
  • Manage cash flow, banking, and treasury functions to optimize the hotel’s liquidity position.
  • Liaise with external auditors and manage the audit process.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard the hotel’s financial assets.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to other departments to enhance profitability.
  • Monitor and analyze the hotel’s financial performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial efficiency.
  • Collaborate with senior management in the development and implementation of strategic financial initiatives.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional qualifications (ACCA, CPA) are a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the hospitality or hotel industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis in a hospitality environment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Maltese financial regulations and tax laws is a strong advantage.
