Commis

 Job Description:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Commis to join our client's team. As a Commis, you will be responsible for assisting the kitchen team in food preparation and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. This is a full-time, permanent position with opportunities for growth and development within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and cooking ingredients

- Follow established recipes and portion sizes to ensure consistency and quality of dishes

- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing work surfaces, and storing ingredients properly

- Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient operations

- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines

- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies when necessary

- Take direction from senior kitchen staff and continuously learn and improve your skills

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary environment is preferred

- Formal culinary training or education is an asset

- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices

- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment

- Strong communication and teamwork skills

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and take direction from senior staff
