Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal with experience in Australian legal systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in succession law, proficiency in drafting wills, and expertise in using the LEAP software package. This role involves providing comprehensive support to our legal team, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to legal standards in all aspects of succession planning and related services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Succession Law Support:
- Provide paralegal assistance in matters related to succession law, including estate planning, administration, and dispute resolution.
- Research legal frameworks governing property distribution after death and address intestacy issues.
- Document Preparation:
- Draft and review wills, powers of attorney, and other legal documents with a high degree of accuracy.
- Assist in preparing documents for probate and estate administration processes.
- Software Utilization:
- Use the LEAP software package for case management, document creation, and legal file organization.
- Maintain and update records in LEAP to ensure compliance with legal standards and firm protocols.
- Client Interaction:
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information, clarify legal terms, and ensure their needs are met throughout the legal process.
- Assist in explaining legal procedures and document requirements.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring confidentiality and accessibility.
- Manage correspondence with clients, courts, and other parties involved in legal proceedings.
Key Requirements:
- Mandatory Australian Legal Experience: Proven experience working within the Australian legal system, particularly in succession law.
- LEAP Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience using the LEAP software package is essential.
- Succession Law Expertise: In-depth understanding of succession law, including estate planning and intestacy rules.
- Wills Drafting: Demonstrated ability to draft and prepare wills and other related legal documents accurately.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
