TAG is looking for a Senior Accountant who has experience with balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close. A successful candidate will have a minimum of 5-7 years experience preferably in a construction company. The Senior Accountant will serve as an integral part of the accounting team.
Responsibilities and skills:
- Responsible for the accounting functions associated with general ledger and sub-ledger maintenance, including account reconciliations, journal entries, transactional analysis, and the systematic maintenance of all financial records.
- Assists with the preparation of monthly financial statements and prepares certain month-end journal entries.
- Performs a general overview of departmental financial statements documenting the reasons for significant variances between actual and budgeted amounts.
- Assists in the preparation of lead sheets for external auditors.
- Provides accounting assistance to all departments during the budgeting process.
- Investigates discrepancies and other areas of concern regarding financial information and recommends corrective actions.
- Works on special accounting projects as assigned.
- Provides functional backup for other finance functions as assigned.
- Possesses strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Capable of working both independently and in teams, as needed
- Willingly provides insight, suggestions, and methods to better TAGas a company
- Proactively take on other tasks, as needed
- Complete tasks accurately and on time
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of related work experience.
- Recent experience with Great Plains preferred, but not required
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent English communications skills and attention to detail
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
