Job Summary:


We are seeking a meticulous and skilled Bookkeeper and Accounts Specialist with proven expertise in Xero and Australian Business Activity Statement (BAS) preparation. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial record-keeping, compliance with Australian tax regulations, and efficient handling of daily accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Bookkeeping and Financial Management:
    • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
    • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records using Xero.
    • Monitor and update cash flow statements to ensure the companys financial health.
  2. BAS Preparation and Reporting:
    • Accurately prepare and lodge Australian BAS reports, ensuring compliance with ATO regulations.
    • Calculate and track GST, PAYG withholding, and other required submissions.
    • Ensure all transactions and reports meet Australian tax standards.
  3. Accounts and Reconciliation:
    • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reconciliations.
    • Verify and reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
    • Assist with end-of-month and end-of-year reporting requirements.
  4. Financial Compliance and Auditing:
    • Maintain compliance with Australian tax laws and accounting principles.
    • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate financial documentation.
  5. Support and Collaboration:
    • Work closely with clients, accountants, and external stakeholders to provide timely and accurate financial information.
    • Assist with payroll processing and related financial activities as needed.

Key Requirements:

  • Xero Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience with Xero accounting software is mandatory.
  • Australian BAS Knowledge: Proven experience in preparing and lodging BAS for Australian businesses.
  • Strong understanding of Australian tax laws and financial compliance requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
