Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping & Accounting:

  • Maintain and update financial records using Xero accounting software.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices and payments.
  • Reconcile bank and trust accounts in accordance with legal accounting regulations.
  • Generate and maintain accurate financial reports for management and legal partners.
  • Assist with payroll processing and statutory compliance (Superannuation, BAS, PAYG).

Compliance & Reporting:

  • Prepare and lodge BAS, GST, and other statutory obligations.
  • Ensure compliance with ATO regulations and other financial policies.
  • Support external accountants and auditors with necessary reports and documentation.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience
  • Worked in a LEGAL AREA IS A PLUS 
  • Proficiency in Xero accounting software (certification is a plus).
  • Experience in legal billing, trust accounting, and handling client accounts (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of Australian financial compliance, tax regulations, and payroll processing.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
