Overview:
Our client is one of New Zealand's leading independent importers and distributors of prestige fragrances, cosmetics, and luxurious goods, and has been for 30 years. They have a strong brand portfolio consisting of prestige cosmetics brands including Bvlgari, Hermes, Mont Blanc, Guerlain, Issey Miyake, Elie Saab, Narciso, Jimmy Choo and Coach.
We are looking for a dedicated Accountant, preferably CPA, who will be assisting in the preparation of financial reports, cashflow, inventory management, auditing, and financial analysis. The Accountant is also responsible for performing daily accounting tasks as well as providing support to the office operation.
Main Responsibilities:
- Balance Sheet accounts reconciliations, and preparation of journals, provisions, and accruals
- Financial reports preparation (monthly, quarterly and annual)
- Business performance analysis and reporting
- Cashflow management
- Bank reconciliations
- Inventory reconciliations
- Processing of service invoices
- Recording of incoming payments/receipts
- Monitoring of customers accounts and ensuring that customers strictly adhere to the agreed terms of payment
- Reconciliation and processing of overseas suppliers' invoices. Coordinate with suppliers discrepancies if any
- Stocks landed cost computation
- GST returns preparation
- Fixed asset register maintenance
- Assist in the preparation of documents needed for audit
- Ad-hoc analysis and reporting
- Provide back-up support in the absence of Accounts Administrator or when required
Other:
- Learn, promote, and act on Clients philosophy, and strive to provide excellent service to help meet the needs of their customers and the business needs of fellow employees.
- Follow all policies and procedures of the company, ensure that any changes and updates to policies and procedures are understood and followed, and always adhere to Health and Safety requirements and principles
- Ensure high professional grooming and presentation of self while in the workplace and when representing the company off-site.
- Perform any other duties as reasonably requested by your line manager and other senior management
Requirements:
- Preferably a Certified Public Accountant
- At least 2 to 4 years of experience in Accounting
- High attention to detail
- Advanced Excel user
- Confident and clear communication skills
- Excellent time management skills and ensure daily priorities are executed in a timely manner
- Experience in financial reports preparation, inventory management and financial analysis
- An understanding of a retail environment
- Preferably with experience in SAP or other related system
