Overview:
Osprey Talent Solutions is supporting a veteran-founded mission integration and data platform services firm delivering operational capabilities to U.S. Government and National Security organizations. This organization works directly alongside mission owners to design, build, and deploy secure, scalable software solutions that enable operational decision advantage.
We are seeking a Forward Deployed Software Engineer to architect, develop, and deploy mission-critical software solutions within complex government environments. This role operates at the intersection of software engineering, data platforms, and mission operations, working directly with stakeholders to translate mission requirements into production-grade technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Software Architecture and Development:
- Design and implement secure, scalable software solutions aligned with mission requirements.
- Develop production-grade code supporting enterprise data platform deployments.
- Translate operational requirements into technical architectures and implementation plans.
- Ensure code quality, performance, and security through established engineering best practices.
Mission Integration and Deployment:
- Embed with mission stakeholders to understand operational workflows and requirements.
- Rapidly prototype, iterate, and deploy solutions in operational environments.
- Support deployment lifecycle from initial design through production sustainment.
- Continuously improve deployed solutions based on user feedback and mission needs.
Technical Leadership and Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with deployment leads, engineers, and mission stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering team members.
- Support troubleshooting, debugging, and resolution of complex technical challenges.
- Contribute to development of reusable technical components and deployment patterns.
Platform and System Optimization:
- Support integration and optimization of enterprise data platform environments.
- Develop pipelines, applications, and integrations that enable operational decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to improve system scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and platform capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Strong software engineering experience in secure, mission-critical environments.
- Experience designing and deploying scalable software systems.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, Java, or similar.
- Experience working with enterprise data platforms or distributed systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in complex operational environments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Active clearance or eligibility preferred.
- Experience supporting defense, intelligence, or federal government customers strongly preferred.
- Experience with platforms such as Foundry, Apollo, or similar systems highly valued.
- Military, intelligence, or national security experience is a plus but not required.
