Job Summary

The IEC ISO 17020 Specialist is responsible for evaluating, auditing, and ensuring the compliance of our inspection body with the ISO/IEC 17020 standard. This role involves conducting assessments, providing guidance, and assisting inspection bodies in maintaining the highest standards of quality and competence in their inspection activities.

Responsibilities

  1. Conduct assessments and audits of our inspection body to determine compliance with ISO/IEC 17020 requirements.
  2. Review inspection body documentation, procedures, and processes to assess their alignment with the standard.
  3. Provide guidance and recommendations to inspection bodies for achieving and maintaining ISO/IEC 17020 compliance.
  4. Collaborate with inspection bodies to address any deficiencies or non-conformities identified during assessments.
  5. Evaluate the competence and qualifications of personnel involved in inspection activities.
  6. Analyze and interpret relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines to ensure accurate assessment of inspection bodies.
  7. Stay up-to-date with changes and updates to ISO/IEC 17020 and related standards.
  8. Participate in the development and delivery of training programs related to ISO/IEC 17020 compliance.
  9. Prepare assessment reports detailing findings, recommendations, and compliance status.
  10. Assist in the development and improvement of internal processes for assessment and auditing.
  11. Build and maintain positive relationships with inspection bodies, regulatory agencies, and industry stakeholders.
  12. Provide expert advice on ISO/IEC 17020 compliance matters to internal teams and external clients.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as engineering, quality assurance, or a related discipline). Master's degree is a plus.
  2. Certification as an ISO/IEC 17020 Lead Auditor is highly desirable.
  3. In-depth knowledge of ISO/IEC 17020 standard and its requirements.
  4. Proven experience in conducting assessments, audits, or inspections in accordance with relevant standards.
  5. Familiarity with various industries and their specific inspection requirements.
  6. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and standards.
  7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  8. Attention to detail and the ability to spot non-conformities and areas for improvement.
  9. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

Experience:

  1. Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in inspection, auditing, quality assurance, or a related field.
  2. Prior experience working with inspection bodies, certification bodies, or accreditation bodies is a plus.
