Fire Safety Consultant
Will be required to travel to SAU, Mumbai and other EU countries.
The Scope of the Role
To deliver a fire safety assurance for a new rolling stock and its introduction to and integration with the railway infrastructure where the passenger service will be delivered.
Key Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Leading the process and developing the deliverables of:
- The fire safety in the design, assembly, and the delivery of the rolling
- The fire safety for the introduction and integration of the rolling stock
- Delivering the following fire safety requirements
- Compliance with European fire standard EN 45545: Parts 1-7 at Hazard Level, HL3.
- Compliance to EN 50553 for 4 minutes.
- Restrictions on fire loads at car level as follows.
- Above floor level- 22000 MJ per car
- Below floor level 26000 MJ per car
- Activities to be carried out by Fire Safety Consultant:
- Certifying of Fire Safety design reports submitted to Customer at various design stages.
- Certification of Fire & Smoke Analysis (FCIL) for various systems.
- Certification of Running Capability report towards compliance of EN50553
- Certification of Floor Fire Barrier reports.
Requirements:
- A degree in fire engineering, a candidate with strong rolling stock safety an also be considered.
- Between 5 and 10 years of experience in Fire Engineering of rolling stock. .
- Experience working with a range of fire standards including BS9999, NFPA 130, BS9992, EN45545 would be beneficial.
- Fire modelling experience.
- A willingness to travel is essential.
- Good commercial awareness.
- Customer focused.
- Ability to collate information and have a clear and structured approach to report writing.
