Job Overview

As a Railway Civil Work Design Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the design phase of railway civil engineering projects. Your role will involve coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and delivering high-quality designs that meet project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Project Planning

Collaborate with project managers and other team members to develop a comprehensive design plan for railway civil engineering projects, considering budget, timeline, and resources.

  1. Design Oversight

Lead a team of civil engineers and designers in developing detailed civil engineering designs for railway infrastructure, including tracks, bridges, tunnels, stations, and other related structures.

  1. Compliance

Ensure that all designs adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and applicable codes and permits. Stay updated with evolving regulations and standards.

  1. Budget Management

Monitor project budgets and make recommendations for cost-effective design solutions. Work to keep projects within budget constraints.

Implement quality control processes to review and approve design plans, ensuring they meet the project's specifications and quality standards.

  1. Risk Assessment

Identify potential design-related risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays or cost overruns.

  1. Stakeholder Communication

Maintain effective communication with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal teams. Address concerns and provide updates on project progress.

Qualifications

  3. A minimum of 15 years of experience in railway civil engineering design and project management.
  4. Strong knowledge of railway engineering standards, codes, and regulations.
  5. Proficiency in relevant design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other engineering software.
