Location

This is an hybrid position (1 remote day) is based in Farmington Hills, MI, offering the opportunity to work closely with attorneys and the legal team in a professional, team-oriented office environment.

Note

Candidates should have legal assistant, legal secretary, or law firm administrative experience. Litigation support experience is strongly preferred.

Job Description

  • Support attorneys and legal staff with day-to-day litigation and administrative tasks.
  • Prepare, edit, format, proofread, and finalize legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, discovery materials, and court filings.
  • Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, hearings, depositions, meetings, and case-related appointments.
  • Assist with e-filing in Michigan courts and maintain organized electronic and physical case files.
  • Coordinate scheduling with attorneys, clients, courts, opposing counsel, vendors, and internal team members.
  • Open, maintain, update, and close client and matter files.
  • Draft routine correspondence and assist with client communications in a professional manner.
  • Track deadlines, follow up on outstanding items, and help keep cases moving efficiently.
  • Assist with discovery support, records requests, subpoenas, deposition preparation, and trial preparation as needed.
  • Perform general administrative support, including scanning, saving, filing, copying, mailing, and document management.

Qualifications

  • Legal assistant, legal secretary, or law firm administrative experience preferred.
  • Litigation support experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with court filings, legal documents, attorney calendars, and case deadlines preferred.
  • Strong proofreading, formatting, organization, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, PDF/document management tools, and legal technology.
  • Professional, reliable, detail-oriented, and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently while also supporting attorneys and team members collaboratively.
