This opportunity is based in Madison, Wisconsin.

Note

Candidates must be actively licensed to practice law in Wisconsin and must have prior hands-on trusts and estates litigation experience. Estate planning experience alone does not satisfy the litigation requirement.

Job Description

  • Represent clients in contested trust, estate, probate, and related fiduciary litigation matters.
  • Develop litigation strategies and work closely with clients throughout disputes.
  • Research complex legal issues and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.
  • Handle written discovery, document review, deposition preparation, and other phases of litigation.
  • Take and defend depositions and participate in mediations, hearings, negotiations, and court proceedings.
  • Collaborate with trusts and estates attorneys and other litigators on complex client matters.
  • Manage case deadlines, client communications, and multiple active litigation matters.
  • Provide thoughtful, practical counsel while maintaining a high standard of client service.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active Wisconsin Bar license.
  • Prior trusts and estates litigation experience required.
  • Solid civil litigation skills, including legal research, writing, discovery, and motion practice.
  • Strong analytical, advocacy, communication, and client service abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively.
  • Probate, fiduciary dispute, contested estate, or related litigation experience is highly valued.
