Compensation Structure

Base salary and total compensation vary by experience level.

  • PI Development Track Associate: $105,000 to $125,000 base salary, with total attainable compensation of approximately $135,000 to $175,000.
  • Mid-Level PI Attorney: $130,000 to $145,000 base salary, with total attainable compensation of approximately $180,000 to $250,000.
  • Senior PI Trial Attorney: $155,000+ base salary, with total attainable compensation of approximately $250,000 to $336,000+.
  • Compensation includes tier-appropriate base salary, quarterly performance commissions, origination bonuses, and upside based on performance.
  • Additional benefits include 100% employer-paid health, vision, and dental insurance for employee coverage, 3 weeks PTO, 401(k) with 4% employer match after 1 year, and $10,000 relocation assistance if moving from more than 2 hours away.

Location: This role is based in Chantilly, Virginia. Attorneys are expected to work on-site during the first three months, with flexibility after that and the ability to work remotely one day per week.

Note: Candidates must be actively licensed in Virginia and have personal injury experience. Maryland and DC bar admission are strongly preferred.

Job Description

  • Manage a caseload of plaintiff personal injury matters from pre-litigation through resolution.
  • Handle client communication, case strategy, settlement negotiations, depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial preparation.
  • Work closely with paralegals, case managers, legal assistants, and medical records specialists to keep cases moving efficiently.
  • Review demands, pleadings, discovery, settlement documents, and litigation strategy.
  • Negotiate with insurance adjusters and defense counsel.
  • Appear in Virginia courts for hearings, motions, conferences, and other litigation events.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, deadlines, documentation, and file updates.
  • Participate in case reviews, strategy discussions, and performance check-ins with firm leadership.
  • Help clients navigate serious injury claims with professionalism, urgency, and care.

Qualifications

  • Active Virginia bar license required.
  • Personal injury experience required.
  • 2+ years of litigation experience required.
  • Plaintiff personal injury experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience handling negotiations, depositions, discovery, hearings, mediations, or trials preferred.
  • Maryland and DC bar admission preferred.
  • Spanish fluency preferred but not required.
  • Strong writing, communication, organization, and client service skills.
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload in a fast-paced litigation environment.
