This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Summerville, South Carolina, offering the chance to become an integral part of a growing office and local real estate community.

Note:

Applicants must be licensed to practice law in South Carolina and have at least 4 years of residential real estate law experience. Candidates should be comfortable independently managing closings, title matters, and client relationships.

Job Description

  • Conduct residential real estate closings in compliance with South Carolina law and firm policies.
  • Review settlement statements, closing packages, and transaction documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Explain legal documents and closing procedures to buyers, sellers, lenders, and real estate professionals.
  • Examine title reports, title commitments, deeds, surveys, and public records.
  • Resolve title defects through curative work and prepare title opinions.
  • Draft and review deeds, affidavits, easements, powers of attorney, corrective instruments, and related legal documents.
  • Advise buyers, sellers, lenders, builders, investors, and referral partners on residential real estate matters.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Realtors®, lenders, builders, and other referral sources.
  • Participate in networking, marketing, and business development activities.
  • Supervise the office receptionist and help support daily office operations.
  • Deliver exceptional client service while maintaining a high-volume practice.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active South Carolina Bar license in good standing.
  • 4+ years of residential real estate law experience.
  • Experience conducting residential real estate closings independently.
  • Strong title examination and title curative experience preferred.
  • Current South Carolina Notary Public commission.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and client relationship skills.
  • Established relationships within the South Carolina real estate community preferred.
  • North Carolina Bar license is a plus.
