Note: Must have 2+ years of paralegal experience, with strong litigation experience and a solid understanding of California court procedures, deadlines, and filing requirements. Employment law experience is strongly preferred.

Job Description

  • Support employment litigation matters from case development through discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
  • Draft, propound, and respond to discovery under attorney direction.
  • Prepare, finalize, and file pleadings and other legal documents with state and federal courts.
  • Monitor court calendars, deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and other critical case events.
  • Prepare and issue subpoenas, legal notices, and related litigation documents.
  • Coordinate service of process, records requests, correspondence, and case logistics.
  • Communicate with court clerks to confirm case information and filing requirements.
  • Assist with fact investigation and drafting complaints.
  • Retrieve, organize, and review case records and supporting documentation.
  • Create and maintain document production lists, filing shells, templates, and organized electronic case files.
  • Maintain accurate case documents and filing systems within Dropbox and other firm platforms.
  • Proofread legal documents for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance before attorney review.
  • Support trial preparation by organizing exhibits and drafting trial-related materials.
  • Help strengthen workflows and case-management systems as the employment practice continues to expand.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of paralegal experience.
  • Strong litigation background; employment law experience preferred.
  • Experience with discovery, subpoenas, pleadings, court filings, and litigation documents.
  • Working knowledge of California state and federal court procedures and deadlines.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and deadline management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters while taking ownership of assignments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred.
