Location: This is a 100% on-site role based in Waterford, MI, offering the opportunity to work closely with ownership, operations, and the leadership team in a hands-on construction environment.
Note: Must have job cost based construction accounting experience, WIP reporting, month-end close experience, controller-level accounting responsibility, and QuickBooks experience.

Job Description
- Own day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger accuracy, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
- Manage job costing, WIP reporting, billing, AP/AR, retainage, cash flow visibility, and collections support.
- Prepare financial reports that help leadership understand profitability, backlog, project performance, risk, and cash flow.
- Partner with ownership and operations to support better decision-making and stronger accountability across projects.
- Improve accounting systems, internal controls, reporting processes, and financial workflows as the company continues to grow.
- Use QuickBooks and Excel to maintain accurate accounting data, improve visibility, and support project-based reporting.
- Support payroll, benefits, compliance, and other finance-related functions as needed in a hands-on leadership role.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
- Construction accounting, job costing, and WIP reporting experience required.
- Strong month-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting experience.
- Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or senior construction accounting leadership experience preferred.
- QuickBooks experience required; QuickBooks Enterprise experience preferred.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort improving reporting, processes, and financial visibility.
- Experience with AIA billing, retainage, Davis-Bacon, multi-state payroll, CPA, or CCIFP is a plus.
