Job Description

Our client is looking for a Structural Engineer to lead the structural design and execution of capital projects across multiple grain handling and processing facilities. This role is focused on delivering safe, efficient, and compliant structural solutions for facility upgrades and new construction projects.

  • Serve as the lead structural engineer for capital projects from concept and feasibility through detailed design, construction, and commissioning.

  • Perform and/or review structural analysis and design for steel framing, concrete foundations, bins/silos, towers, platforms, catwalks, and equipment supports.

  • Develop and review design drawings, calculations, specifications, and construction documents; coordinate with external engineering firms when needed.

  • Work closely with mechanical engineers and operations teams to integrate material-handling equipment into building and support structures.

  • Support project managers with budgets, cost estimates, schedules, and contractor/vendor coordination related to structural scope.

  • Conduct site visits to evaluate existing structures, identify deficiencies, and recommend repair, retrofit, or replacement solutions.

  • Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and company safety policies (e.g., IBC, AISC, ACI, OSHA).

  • Provide technical guidance to operations and maintenance teams on structural issues and long-term asset reliability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Structural or Civil Engineering

    • Mechanical Engineering considered if the candidate has strong structural/material-handling experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of structural engineering experience for industrial, agricultural, or similar facility projects.

  • Experience designing steel and concrete structures, foundations, and equipment supports (grain handling, bulk storage, or material handling a plus).

  • Proficiency with structural design tools and AutoCAD; familiarity with structural analysis software preferred.

  • PE license preferred (or the ability and intent to obtain licensure in the near term).

  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to collaborate across operations, engineering, and construction teams.
