Location: Phoenix, AZ (On-site, midtown area).

Note: Must have 3+ years of litigation defense legal assistant/secretary experience, including court filings and calendaring.

  • Prepare and finalize correspondence, motions, pleadings, and other court-related documents
  • File documents with the courts (including e-filing where applicable) and confirm acceptance
  • Maintain calendars for deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial dates
  • Coordinate scheduling with attorneys, clients, experts, and opposing counsel
  • Support trial preparation: organize exhibits, binders, witness materials, and logistics
  • Open and close files; maintain organized matter records and clean file structures
  • Utilize a document management system to save, organize, and retrieve documents
  • Manage inbound calls and emails professionally and keep matters moving
  • Proactively track tasks and follow up to ensure deadlines are met

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of litigation defense experience as a legal assistant and/or legal secretary
  • Experience drafting and formatting pleadings, motions, and litigation correspondence
  • Court filing experience (including e-filing) and strong calendaring skills
  • Comfortable using a document management system and Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a polished, professional tone
  • Reliable, organized, and able to handle multiple priorities with a positive attitude
