Location:

Irving, Texas. This is primarily a hybrid opportunity combining remote flexibility with in office collaboration in the Dallas and Irving area. Fully remote arrangements may be considered for exceptional candidates, with a strong preference for attorneys based in Texas.

Note:

This is a senior trial attorney role. Candidates must have an active Texas Bar license, 10+ years practicing law, 5+ years of business or commercial litigation experience, and 5+ years of substantial hands on trial litigation experience. Exceptional legal research and writing skills are also required.

Job Description

  • Manage complex business and commercial litigation matters from initial assessment through resolution and trial
  • Develop and execute sophisticated litigation strategies based on the facts, law, business objectives, and potential risks
  • Conduct and defend depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
  • Draft persuasive motions, briefs, pleadings, discovery, legal correspondence, and other litigation documents
  • Conduct thorough legal research and apply relevant law to complex factual and procedural issues
  • Analyze contracts, business records, financial documents, and other evidence
  • Prepare witnesses, exhibits, evidence, and arguments for hearings and trial
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding litigation strategy, developments, risks, and potential outcomes
  • Manage discovery, court filings, deadlines, and competing litigation priorities independently
  • Collaborate with attorneys and litigation professionals while maintaining ownership of assigned matters

Qualifications

  • 10+ years practicing law
  • Active Texas Bar license required
  • 5+ years of significant business or commercial litigation experience
  • 5+ years of substantial hands on trial litigation experience
  • Demonstrated ability to handle matters through discovery, hearings, and trial
  • Exceptional legal research and persuasive writing skills
  • Strong courtroom presence, oral advocacy, negotiation, and litigation strategy skills
  • Ability to independently manage complex cases and multiple deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • First chair or lead trial experience strongly preferred
  • Experience taking jury trials through verdict strongly preferred
  • Admission to an additional state bar preferred
