Location: On-site in Birmingham, Alabama, with relocation open to discussion for the right candidate.
Note: Must have roadway / transportation design experience, proficiency with Bentley OpenRoads or Power InRoads, and a Civil Engineering degree. DOT experience is strongly preferred, and candidates with an E.I./E.I.T. or P.E. will stand out.

Job Description
- Design roadway and transportation improvement projects using Bentley OpenRoads Designer / Power InRoads
- Prepare plans, reports, drawings, cross-sections, specifications, and other construction documents
- Support the design and delivery of public infrastructure projects from concept through construction
- Review engineering drawings, survey data, and field information to develop accurate design solutions
- Assist with drainage, roadway, and traffic control design work
- Prepare technical reports, permitting documents, and related project deliverables
- Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers on technical direction, quality control, and project execution
- Contribute to public and private sector transportation projects that shape local communities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- 2+ years of roadway or transportation design experience
- Proficiency with Bentley Power InRoads and/or OpenRoads Designer
- E.I. / E.I.T. required or strongly preferred depending on level
- P.E. license preferred, or clear path toward licensure
- DOT project experience strongly preferred
- Strong technical writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a fast-paced engineering team
