Note: Must have a bachelors degree in accounting plus 2+ years of accounting experience/training, ideally in a law firm setting, with strong Excel skills and comfort handling sensitive financial/trust information.

Job Description
- Manage day-to-day Accounts Payable, Banking, and Trust operations
- Ensure incoming requests and communications from the Northeast group are handled promptly and professionally
- Reconcile trust and operating bank accounts daily to identify electronic payments and debits
- Support client trust account management by ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with legal/regulatory requirements
- Process vendor invoices and expense reimbursements
- Assist with accounts receivable tracking and follow-ups
- Monitor unapplied/on-account fee and disbursement balances and coordinate with billing on monthly application against WIP and AR
- Maintain the electronic imaging system (Expert Image) and keep it accurate and up to date
- Complete sales and use tax filings for NY/NJ offices
- Provide management with regular status reports on daily balances and transactions
- Assist with ad-hoc reporting and reconciliations for regional offices
- Handle sensitive matters with discretion and assist with other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- 2+ years of related accounting experience/training (law firm experience strongly preferred)
- Experience with Aderant Expert, Elite, or similar legal software (or strong transferable accounting system experience)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven; able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication; able to handle sensitive inquiries professionally
- High integrity and discretion (trust and banking work requires confidentiality)
