Location

New York City, NY — hybrid. NYC metropolitan area candidates are preferred.

Note

Must have an active New York State Bar license, 8+ years of litigation experience, 4+ years of commercial arbitration experience, and strong motions practice experience. Personal injury defense experience is required, with technology-sector, app-based, or other high-volume defense experience preferred.

Job Description

  • Lead commercial arbitration proceedings for technology company clients from inception through resolution
  • Develop and execute case strategy in close coordination with clients
  • Handle arbitration motions, hearings, appeals, and related litigation proceedings
  • Draft and argue motions to dismiss, motions to compel arbitration, and other dispositive motions
  • Defend personal injury claims throughout the New York City metropolitan area
  • Handle a variety of personal injury matters, including claims involving app-based claimants and off-platform incidents
  • Independently manage a substantial, high-volume caseload
  • Analyze liability, exposure, defenses, and resolution strategies
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for key client accounts
  • Maintain strong client relationships through responsive, strategic legal guidance
  • Supervise and mentor associates and support staff across assigned matters
  • Coordinate litigation strategy, deadlines, discovery, hearings, and other case activities
  • Collaborate with attorneys across the firm's broader litigation practice
  • Contribute to client development and continued growth of key accounts

Qualifications

  • Active admission to the New York State Bar required
  • 8+ years of litigation experience
  • 4+ years of commercial arbitration experience
  • Demonstrated personal injury defense experience
  • Strong motions practice background
  • Experience drafting and arguing motions to dismiss and motions to compel arbitration
  • Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to independently manage a substantial caseload
  • Strong case strategy, judgment, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong client relationship and communication skills
  • Experience supervising or mentoring associates and legal support staff
  • NYC metropolitan area location preferred
  • Technology-sector, app-based, rideshare, transportation, or similarly high-volume defense experience preferred
