Location
This position is based out of the Tysons, VA and Washington, DC offices, with a mix of office-based engineering work and field/site visits throughout the Metro DC area and other project locations as needed.
Note: Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in structural design, be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship, and be comfortable performing field investigations, inspections, site travel, and physical job-site duties.

Job Description
- Perform structural engineering work for repair, renovation, rehabilitation, and restoration projects.
- Assist with field investigations, structural inspections, surveys, and condition assessments.
- Analyze existing structural systems and help develop practical repair and strengthening solutions.
- Support design, analysis, detailing, and documentation for structural repair projects.
- Work with steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and other building materials.
- Use structural analysis and modeling tools such as RAM, CSI products, or similar software.
- Coordinate with senior engineers, project managers, clients, contractors, and internal team members.
- Travel to project sites throughout the Metro DC area and other U.S. locations as needed.
- Safely perform site-related work, including work at heights, ladders, aerial lifts, swing stages, scaffolding, and challenging indoor or outdoor conditions.
- Take on increasing technical and project responsibility as your skills and experience grow.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field with an emphasis in structural design.
- 0+ years of structural engineering experience.
- Working knowledge of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood design.
- Strong interest in existing buildings, structural repair, rehabilitation, renovation, and field investigation work.
- Strong analysis, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Eagerness to learn, grow, and build a long-term career in structural engineering.
- Ability to travel to job sites and perform field inspections.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs of equipment when needed.
- Ability to work at heights and safely use ladders and access equipment.
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
- Experience with RAM, CSI products, Revit, or similar tools is preferred.
