Location: Hybrid role based in Charlottesville, Virginia, offering a strong mix of remote flexibility and in-office collaboration in a highly desirable Central Virginia market.

Note: Candidates must be admitted to the Virginia Bar or be on a clear path to pass or waive into the Virginia Bar through comity. Periodic overnight travel is required, generally several times per year.

Job Description

  • Handle complex litigation matters from case inception through trial
  • Draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and other key litigation documents
  • Manage written discovery, document review, and case strategy support
  • Prepare witnesses and help build trial strategy
  • Attend hearings, take depositions, and support trial preparation
  • Work closely with experienced attorneys on defamation, business tort, and related disputes
  • Contribute through strong legal research, persuasive writing, and thoughtful case management
  • Travel periodically for hearings, depositions, and other case needs

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Virginia Bar admission, or clear path to admission through exam or comity
  • Litigation experience preferred, but strong entry-level candidates will be considered
  • Strong legal writing, research, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines, priorities, and client service in an active litigation practice
  • Interest in building long-term fit with a boutique, trial-focused team
  • Deposition, hearing, or trial prep experience is a plus
