Location: Dallas, Texas — This is an on-site opportunity designed to provide hands-on mentorship and collaboration. Attorneys with fewer than five years of experience are expected to work in the office, with potential flexibility after six months for the right candidate.

Note: Applicants must be licensed to practice law in Texas and have at least 2 years of litigation experience. Insurance coverage experience is preferred but not required. Strong candidates from litigation, in-house legal departments, or relevant practice areas will be considered.

Job Description

  • Manage a docket of insurance coverage litigation matters.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal memoranda.
  • Conduct legal research using Westlaw and/or Lexis.
  • Analyze insurance policies and develop coverage opinions and litigation strategies.
  • Participate in mediations, hearings, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
  • Communicate directly with sophisticated insurance carrier clients.
  • Collaborate with partners on complex litigation and appeals.
  • Assist with trial preparation and second-chair trial opportunities when cases proceed to trial.
  • Maintain accurate case management and meet litigation deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Active Texas Bar license.
  • 2+ years of litigation experience.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience drafting litigation documents independently.
  • Comfortable managing multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Insurance coverage experience is highly preferred but not required.
  • Federal court experience or knowledge of the Federal Rules is a plus.
  • Candidates with relevant in-house experience are encouraged to apply.
