About the job Inside Sales Specialist (Service and Aftermarket)
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're hiring an Inside Sales Specialist, Service and Aftermarket to help grow the Life-Cycle Services business by managing inbound service sales requests and identifying new commercial opportunities across our rapidly expanding installed base. This role will support customer requests for spare parts, one-time services, recurring services, and subscription offerings while helping convert service demand into structured revenue opportunities.
You'll monitor inbound support and commercial channels, review the existing install base for upsell, cross sell, and renewal opportunities, and support the wider Service Sales team in advancing opportunities through the pipeline. This is a hands-on sales support role for someone who can move quickly, stay organized, and help scale service revenue as customer sites, assets, and service needs continue to grow.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Inbound Service Sales Support (~35%)
- Monitor inbound support requests that may require parts, one-time services, recurring services, subscriptions, or other commercial follow-up
- Qualify customer needs, confirm basic scope, gather required information, and route opportunities to the appropriate sales or service process
- Prepare or support quotes for spare parts, service visits, one-time repair work, recurring maintenance, and subscription-based offerings
- Follow up with customers or partners to move requests from inquiry to quote, approval, order, and fulfillment
- Maintain accurate opportunity, quote, customer, asset, and activity records in the appropriate business systems
Installed Base Opportunity Development (~35%)
- Review the existing installed base to identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, renewals, service coverage, parts packages, training, and subscription adoption
- Use asset, customer, warranty, service, and subscription data to identify accounts that need proactive commercial outreach
- Build targeted call lists, renewal trackers, whitespace reports, and opportunity lists for accounts with expanding service needs
- Partner with account owners and Service Sales team members to convert installed-base insights into active opportunities
Service Sales Pipeline Support (~30%)
- Support the wider Service Sales team by helping advance opportunities through qualification, quote preparation, customer follow-up, and internal handoffs
- Track open opportunities, next steps, quote status, renewal timelines, and customer approvals so pipeline activity does not stall
- Coordinate with Service, Sales Operations, Finance, and field teams to resolve questions that block quote creation, order entry, invoicing, or fulfillment
- Help standardize inside sales motions for parts, one-time service, recurring service, and subscription opportunities as the install base scales
Reporting, Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Create simple reporting that shows inbound request volume, quoted opportunities, conversion status, renewal activity, and install-base opportunity coverage
- Document common sales workflows, qualification requirements, quoting steps, routing rules, and customer follow-up expectations
- Recommend improvements that make inbound service sales, renewals, and installed-base opportunity management more repeatable and scalable
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Educational background required / desired:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Or equivalent work experience
Work experience required / desired:
- Inside sales, sales operations, customer service, service sales, sales support, account management, or related commercial support experience.
Years of experience required / desired:
- 2+ years

MS Office applications proficiency required / desired:
- Excel proficiency: Comfortable using Excel for opportunity lists, renewal trackers, install-base reviews, and basic reporting.
Other qualifications:
- Commercial mindset: Able to recognize customer needs, identify sales opportunities, and help move inquiries toward quotes, orders, renewals, or subscription adoption.
- CRM discipline: Comfortable maintaining opportunities, activities, quotes, account notes, customer records, and follow-up tasks in Salesforce or a similar CRM.
- Customer follow-up: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to keep requests moving without losing detail or momentum.
- Data orientation: Comfortable reviewing customer, asset, warranty, service, and subscription data to identify trends, gaps, and commercial opportunities.
- Organization: Able to manage multiple inbound requests, open quotes, customer follow-ups, and internal handoffs at the same time.
- Attention to detail: Strong follow-through and accuracy in a role where missed details can delay customer service, revenue capture, or renewals.
- Team orientation: Able to support Service Sales, Service Operations, Sales Operations, Finance, and field teams to keep opportunities advancing.
Strongly Preferred
- Experience supporting service sales, aftermarket sales, parts sales, renewals, or recurring revenue offerings
- Salesforce opportunity, quote, account, or case experience
- Experience working with an installed base, asset records, customer entitlement data, or renewal lists
- Ability to build basic dashboards, reports, call lists, or exception trackers for sales and leadership review
- Interest in growing service revenue through upsell, cross-sell, renewal, and subscription motions
Nice-to-Have
- EV charging, energy, field service, technical equipment, or aftermarket industry background
- Experience selling or supporting maintenance plans, service agreements, software subscriptions, training, or parts programs
- Experience helping a scaling business move from reactive inbound handling to proactive installed-base selling
