ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Sr. Service Delivery Manager, Accounting Practice is a critical internal leadership role supporting the rapidly growing accounting service line within the Finance and Accounting Professional Services practice. This is a multi-faceted role requiring strong technical accounting skills, people leadership experience and the ability to work cross functionally. This position is responsible for leading service delivery and technical accounting matters within the accounting service line, and reports to executive leadership.

The Sr. Service Delivery Manager, Accounting Practice leads a portion (cluster) of the accounting practice clients and associated team member portfolio. This role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of outcomes for the assigned portfolio, including operational performance, client experience, people leadership, and the overall commercial health of the cluster.

This role supports a growing team of accounting professionals ranging from seasoned managers to entry level accountants across a variety of diverse businesses. This role requires strong technical and people leadership skills, along with structured problem solving. This role will grow leaders and support career development, while stabilizing operations, establishing standards, driving continuous improvement while maintaining strong relationships with client stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can identify problems, develop solutions, is team-oriented, but able to work independently when required. This role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail. As the company grows, this role will expand in new and challenging ways.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Technical Accounting Oversight: When required, support, enable and review various aspects of corporate financial accounting. Support team member management and execution of the full month-end close process across operating entities, driving toward a compressed close calendar. Support the use of various accounting / ERP software and tools for reporting and dashboard development.
  • People Leadership: Lead a large and diverse professional accounting team. Demonstrate an effective leadership style. Lead all aspects of professional development, career guidance, and coaching. Serve as a 'player-coach' when needed. Includes various administrative aspects of people leadership.
  • Cross-functional Interactions: Collaborate with various cross functional teams and various levels (Service Delivery, Sales, Training, and HR) in support of common organizational goals. Collaboration includes execution of existing processes, but also development of new processes as the organization evolves.
  • Stakeholder and Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of engagement with the client's point of contact. Develop client relationships, assist with inquiries, resolve performance gaps rapidly, and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Commercial Expansion: Partner with team members, client leadership and Origo leadership to identify and recommend opportunities to expand Origo support within the client portfolio. Includes incremental resource augmentation (both professional and transactional) as well as transformation technology and go-to-market opportunities.
  • Process Improvement: Review team member processes and deliverables with a mindset towards transformation, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Understand client long term goals and needs and assess opportunities for transformation support.
  • Practice Build: In addition to leading service delivery and technical accounting support, play a key role in codifying service line operations, developing standards, and playbooks. Support recruiting, onboarding, transitioning, and capacity modeling.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required
  • CPA and public accounting experience a strong plus
  • 10-15 years of progressive accounting experience required
  • Experience with US GAAP required
  • Significant demonstrated progressive professional people leadership required
  • Executive interaction and experience working with C-Suite executives required
  • BPO or similar shared service experience required
  • Experience working cross functionally and collaboratively required
  • Well-developed business acumen with intellectual curiosity and analytical skills required
  • Strong operational execution and organizational skills required
  • Excellent communication and strong English skills are essential
  • Team player and willingness to be flexible and adaptive is essential
