Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Solutions Architect with a strong understanding of project management and IT management principles to join our dynamic team. This role will be responsible for translating business requirements into effective technical solutions, while also leading the projects that deliver those solutions and contributing to the overall IT strategy and management. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of both designing robust architectures, managing projects to successful completion, and contributing to the effective management of IT resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Solution Architecture:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements.
- Design and document robust, scalable, and secure solutions that align with the company's IT strategy and business goals.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, platforms, and vendors, considering total cost of ownership (TCO), return on investment (ROI), and lifecycle management.
- Create architectural diagrams, specifications, and other documentation.
- Ensure solutions are aligned with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and IT governance frameworks.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of IT roadmaps and strategic plans.
- Project Management:
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets. Manage project scope, resources, and risks.
- Lead project meetings and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Manage project dependencies and escalate issues as needed.
- Utilize project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Business Analysis:
- Elicit and analyze business requirements. Conduct gap analysis and identify areas for improvement.
- Document business processes and workflows.
- IT Management:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.
- Participate in IT budgeting and resource allocation processes.
- Evaluate and recommend IT infrastructure and software investments.
- Monitor IT performance and identify areas for optimization.
- Collaborate with other IT teams (e.g., operations, security) to ensure seamless integration and alignment.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in IT management.
- Other Responsibilities:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends.
- Contribute to the development of IT best practices and standards.
- Participate in technical discussions and provide input on architectural decisions.
- Mentor and coach other team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Solutions Architect, with a strong understanding of architectural principles and design patterns.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, including planning, execution, and delivery.
- Strong understanding of various technologies, including e.g., cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP), databases (SQL, NoSQL), etc.
- Experience with IT management frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of IT budgeting, resource allocation, and vendor management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus.
