Job Description:

The HSE manager will ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance at the Giza Pyramids venue. This role involves developing tailored HSE policies, identifying/managing risks unique to a historical tourist destination, and fostering a culture of safety for employees, visitors and the preservation of the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & implement site-specific HSE policies.
  • Ensure adherence to local laws and liaise with Egyptian tourism authority, ministry of antiques.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify hazards and develop mitigation strategies for emergencies like fires, medical incidents, or security threats.
  • Create evacuation plans and coordinate drills with local authorities and emergency services.
  • Establish crisis management protocols for high-profile incidents.
  • Deliver training programs for staff, contractors and vendors on safety practices and cultural sensitivity.
  • Promote visitor safety through signage and educational materials.
  • Lead investigations into major accidents and maintain records.
  • Develop health & safety SOPs for Events in the venue and ensure implementation of those standards on site.
  • Perform routine HSE inspections and submit detailed reports to senior Management.
  • Track KPIS like incidents rates and audit outcomes.
  • Manage H&S service provider on site including developing KPIs, monitoring/improving performance and contract management.
  • Handle insurance claims documentation and reporting in case of major incidents.
  • Stay updated on HSE trends, technologies, and best practices for heritage sites.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, HSE, Environmental science or related field.
  • 8+ years extensive experience in HSE management preferably in tourism, heritage, or hospitality industries.
  • Relevant interpersonal skills, good communication, Efficient time Management, ability to work under pressure, and accountability.
