Key Responsibilities:

1. Show Operation & Daily Performance

  • Operate and supervise all show systems every night, including:
    • Audio system (playback, live inputs if any, processing, routing).
    • Video and projection systems (media servers, projectors, screens if any).
    • Lighting and effects (moving heads, architectural fixtures, cue stacks).
    • Show-control and timecode systems.
  • Execute the show strictly according to the approved cue lists, timelines and scripts.
  • Conduct and sign off on pre-show checks and post-show shutdown procedures for all critical systems.
  • Ensure the show runs on time, consistently and safely, even under pressure or unusual conditions (weather, VIP visits, etc.).

2. System Inspection & Preventive Maintenance

  • Develop, implement, and enforce structured daily, weekly, and monthly inspection checklists for all audio, video, lighting, control racks, network infrastructure, and critical outdoor components.
  • Monitor system performance, record faults or intermittent issues, and document corrective actions within a structured maintenance log.
  • Coordinate with technical teams to prioritize and execute preventive maintenance activities while ensuring uninterrupted show operations.

3. Translation & Interpretation Systems Oversight

  • Ensure the technical readiness and proper integration of translation and interpretation systems within the overall show infrastructure.
  • Oversee correct routing, channel configuration, and language distribution aligned with the main audio signal flow.
  • Establish clear operating procedures for the team, including equipment handling and basic troubleshooting.
  • Escalate complex technical matters to vendors or manufacturers when required, while maintaining uninterrupted core show operations.

4. AV&L Support for Restaurants, Hotels & Special Events

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise temporary or event-based AV&L setups, including hospitality venues, restaurant terraces, VIP functions, private events, and hotel activations.
  • Ensure all supplementary technical installations are executed without impacting the stability or integrity of the main show systems.
  • Maintain proper documentation and structured restoration procedures to return systems to standard show configuration.
  • Collaborate with the AV&L Technical Director and Operations team to allocate resources effectively (equipment, manpower, and scheduling).

5. Vendor & Manufacturer Coordination

  • Act as the main technical point of contact for all AV&L and related systems with integrators, manufacturers, and contractors.
  • Open, follow and close technical support tickets and RMAs.
  • Coordinate remote or on-site interventions when necessary.

6. Commissioning, Testing & Content Implementation

  • Participate in commissioning, tuning, and acceptance tests of all AV&L systems.
  • Participate in content implementation (audio stems, video, timecode, lighting show files) and ensure all versions are properly backed up.

7. Incident & Contingency Management

  • Maintain and enforce SOPs and emergency procedures in case of system failure or partial degradation.
  • Apply temporary workarounds in coordination with AV&L Technical director (bypass paths, backup playlists, reduced lighting looks) to keep the show running safely wherever possible.
  • Maintain and use a clear escalation matrix (who to call, when, for what kind of problem).

8. Team Leadership & Documentation

  • Lead and coordinate the on-shift operations team, including the Junior Operator, Electrical Technician, Systems Technician, and Assistants.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and structured training to the Junior Operator to ensure full operational readiness and succession capability.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation, including patch lists, IP schemes, rack layouts, cue sheets, system backups, and DMX addressing.
  • Submit regular technical and operational reports to the AV&L Technical Director to ensure transparency and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
  • 5–7+ years of experience working with large-scale AV, lighting, and show-control systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge of audio, video, lighting, show control systems, and network infrastructure.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to supervise and guide technical teams.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in live show environments.
  • Very good command of the English language (spoken and written).
