Purpose of the job
Manage the team responsible for ICT strategic projects.
Duties and responsibilities
- Monitors build progress, overseeing finance and ensuring overall ICT projects quality.
- Establishes the ICT projects plan baseline, define project scope, secure the necessary resources, and plans and monitor all activities.
- Managing project managers and enabling them to supervise and manage their own tasks.
- Ensures alignment between clients, stakeholders, and project managers to maintain project progress.
- Manages customer relationship by building confidence, trust and ensure project progress arranging meetings and customer events.
- Devising cost-effective plans to enable effective project completion.
- Managing risks to avoid delays or reputational damage.
- Ensuring permits and legal papers are secured ahead of the project and during the project implementation.
- Manages external partnerships and contracts with different agencies for program delivery when needed.
- Drive project execution, track project activities, monitor deadlines and milestones, handle changes, conflicts, and critical issues.
- Handles project financials ensuring financial monitoring.
- Participate in contract preparation and to pre-sales meetings.
- Devise evaluation strategies to monitor project performance and determine the need for improvements.
- Discover ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and people.
- Apply change, risk and resource management principles when needed.
- Ensure program operations and activities adhere to legal guidelines and internal policies.
- Keeps top management informed with detailed and accurate reports or presentations.
Job specification
Education
- ICT University graduate
Experience
- Min 5 years of work experience including 2 years in a similar position.
Skills and abilities
- Can foster a sense of team spirit within different departments.
- Communicates well and relays information in a timely manner.
- Has good budgeting skills and can reduce costs without making adjustments that would affect quality.
- Knows what is required for a particular project to be completed and has realistic expectations as far as meeting deadlines go.
- Possesses good math skills and can make accurate calculations quickly and easily.
- Has good leadership and supervisory skills.
- Ability to work under tight scheduling.
