Purpose of the job:
To manage and maintain VMware virtualization environment
Job Location: New Capital Administrative City, Cairo
Duties and responsibilities
- Install, configure, and manage VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Servers, Virtual machines, and storage.
- Maintenance and troubleshoot ESXi hosts, including hardware components such as CPU, memory, storage, and networking related to the VMware environment.
- Monitor systems and Servers performance, resource utilization, and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance and scalability of the virtual infrastructure.
- Implement high availability solutions using HA clusters and failover mechanisms to ensure business continuity.
- Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies for virtual machines using Site Recovery Manager.
- Implement and manage VMware Horizon.
- Ensure the security of the VMware environment by applying security patches on a regular basis, managing user access, and other security measures.
- Develop and implement automation tasks using VMware Orchestration to streamline and enhance VMware administration tasks.
- Manage virtual machine deployment, configuration, and migration across multiple Datacentres.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues related to VMware products.
Job specification
Education
- Bachelors degree in engineering or any related field from a recognized university.
Experience.
- 5 years experience working in IT.
- Proficient in VMware vSphere, including ESXi, vCenter Server, vSAN and VMware Operations Management.
- Experience with VMware Site Recovery Manager.
- Experience with VMware Horizon.
- Experience with VMware Orchestration.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and technologies, including VLANs, switches, and firewalls.
- Knowledge of storage systems and SAN/NAS configurations.
- Experience with backup and recovery solutions for virtual environments.
- Proficiency in scripting languages, such as PowerShell and Power CLI.
- Extensive experience with Windows and Linux OS.
