Purpose of the job
The Program Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic programs and initiatives within the organization, ensuring the sustainability of the projects. The professional will be responsible for managing cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and driving continuous improvement in program management practices. The Program Manager will act as the main program representative in all communications; internal and external, ensuring proper delivery of the program message and vision.
Duties and responsibilities
- Participating in developing the ODC organizational strategy and priorities.
- Planning and defining the program strategy and implementation; including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements, initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, goals, and priorities.
- Developing detailed project plans and identifying key performance indicators (KPIs) and success criteria for measuring program effectiveness.
- Acting as the main representative for the program and its point of contact
- Leading cross-functional teams and coordinating internal resources and third parties for the effective execution of program activities and deliverables.
- Providing leadership and guidance to program team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Supporting the professional development of team members through coaching, mentoring, and training opportunities.
- Managing and mitigating risks to ensure on-time, within scope and within budget delivery.
- Developing and implementing a detailed monitor and track progress plan.
- Coordinating the dependency management between different projects in the program and with other ODC programs.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, team members, and external partners.
- Managing changes to the program scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques
- Reporting program status to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Collaborating with the M&E expert to evaluate program performance against predefined metrics and benchmarks, making adjustments as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
- Collaborating with the Business Development team to ensure program financial sustainability.
Job specification
Education
- Background in engineering; preferably Mechatronics or Production or Computer.
- Masters Degree in Engineering or Professional Diploma is preferable.
- A Management Certification is a must; MBA, PMP or PgMP
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience working in social development sector (CSR and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).... etc)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in overseeing end-to-end project management.
- Experience in designing customer-centric solutions preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders, and drive project success.
- Understanding of budgeting and financial management principles, with the ability to manage program budgets, track expenses, and ensure financial accountability.
- Stakeholder Management: Experience in managing relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, clients, team members, and external partners.
