Purpose of the job
Manage & Control all power Requirements and environmental issues
Duties and responsibilities
- Administer storage and SAN systems including performance monitoring, systems initialization and onboarding
- Administer Backup and Archiving systems including performance monitoring, systems initialization and onboarding
- Troubleshoot and investigate complex problems
- Escalate technical problems to vendor support and follow up until they are resolved
- Document all technical actions and provide reports to technical team leaders and management
- Work closely with DBA and application support team members to resolve outstanding issues
- Co-operate with project managers and consultants to achieve project goals
- Coach junior team members by on-the-job and formal training
- Leads implementations of new storage systems
- Carry out storage migrations as per plans laid out by the Architecture and Planning teams Manages the daily activities of all enterprise storage systems
- Initiate internal projects in coordination with Architecture and Planning teams
- Supervise the backup procedures and ensures backups are executed and tested as per schedules.
Job specification
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer science, information systems, or equivalent
Experience
Min 4 years, 2 of which in a relevant role
Skills and abilities
- Knowledge with Large Scale Storage Area Network Systems (Design, Build, Operate) e.g. Dell/EMC, Huawei, HPE,..
- Strong knowledge of at UNIX environments
- Strong understanding of a networking infrastructure
- Strong understanding of high availability concepts
- Strong understanding of storage systems architectures and SANs
- Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies
- Experienced with capacity and performance management for storage infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience and strong knowledge in sizing, architecting of Hyper Converged Solutions
- Experience with enterprise data protection/backup environments
